Doesn't this dog's face on the right look like Mia? And also the body of the dog on the left...
They are yellow fox hounds, and I'd never really heard of a fox hound until some lady at our daycare said that Mia looked Just like her own fox hound. Amazing.
I think they do resemble each other pretty closely. I'm not sure how in he world our rescue group decided that our dog was a yellow lab when she very clearly is not. I am going to go out on the limb and just guess that labradors are a lot more adoptable than most other breeds. I love our dog just the same though, so we took the bait.

ReplyDeleteShelters suck at determining breeds of dogs. I like to study dogs. She has more of a Dingo dog look to her... But the ears are way different and the fur looks more slim then think. The ears look small and up high like possibly a Shearpea/Boxer's ears. The shelter might have been right on with that guess. And I would guess Boxer would be more appropriate due to no wrinkles and a slim type coat. Beautiful dog though. But thats my take on her breed mixes. She might also be mixed with more then just those breeds. Her mom and or dad might have been mixed also. If she has those two mixes she would be very high energy dog as both the breeds are high energy type breeds.
ReplyDeleteI stopped at your page because your dog looks exactly like mine. Ours is a Shepherd/Yellow lab mix. I have 2 lab mixes and one full blood yellow lab. Our yellow lab has many similarities to your pup. Does yours have webbed feet? Naturally webbed feet means that they are a water dogs such as labs. Usually when those at the shelter see webbed feet along with body size and coloring they point to labs. I've also been curious about the exact breed of our puppy being from the shelter too. I also thought Carolina Dingo for my dog until I read that they usually have small paws like your dog.
